Megan Varner

Megan Verner POE Headshot July 2024

Megan Varner, Director of Undergraduate Programming & Initiatives

Megan Varner (she/her) is the Director of Undergraduate Programming & Initiatives here at Prevention, Outreach and Education. She oversees the undergraduate student prevention unit with a focus on enhancing and continually improving all programming aimed at the prevention of relationship violence, stalking and sexual misconduct. Megan earned her bachelor’s degree in family studies and also has a masters in professional counseling from Central Michigan University.

Although Megan is new at MSU, she has worked for over a decade in the field of gender-based violence in a university setting which includes providing and overseeing direct survivor services, prevention education and outreach efforts. She is committed to building campus partnerships, including with undergraduate students, and believes in the positive impact of a community commitment. Megan is a proud and active alumni supporter of a peer advocacy organization at her former institution and volunteers throughout the year with this program.

When not working, Megan enjoys time with her spouse and four kids who keep her very busy and on her toes. They are often found taking in farmers markets, exploring the local area parks and trails and sometimes caught enthusiastically watching a multitude of sports.
