Natalie Haga Ryckman- Climate & Response Specialist

Natalie (she/her) is a Climate & Response Specialist. She works collaboratively with units on campus impacted by incidents of relationship violence and sexual misconduct to develop strategies to promote healing and culture change. Natalie did her undergrad at MSU where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Family and Community Services. She also holds a Master of Science in Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. Natalie previously worked in a gender-based violence prevention and response environment. This includes direct service work with survivors and in program management for several federally funded grant projects that increased community and college capacity to serve those impacted by relationship violence and sexual misconduct. She is looking forward to supporting campus units and collaboratively identifying creative strategies that meet their unique needs.

Natalie is a Michigander but has previously lived in South Florida and New Hampshire. A matter of fact, the first place she ever lived as a baby & toddler was on MSU’s campus in the Cherry Lane apartments which was housing for married and parenting students. The apartments have since been demolished. I guess you can say she was destined to work at MSU.

She likes to walk, bike, and run while listening to podcasts or audiobooks. She also loves to try new recipes and take inspiration from episodes of Great British Bake off. Natalie has never met a dog she didn’t like and would love to meet yours if you have one!!
