Michael (he/him) currently serves as the Director for Employee & Graduate Student Programs for Prevention, Outreach, and Education. Prior to this, Michael worked in various roles in Residence Education and Housing Services, promoting student success initiatives, enhancing campus collaborations, and helping to facilitate a positive living and learning experience for students, faculty, and staff.
In his current role, Michael oversees the Employee and Graduate Student Programs unit within POE, focusing on prevention training, online learning, and various engagement initiatives across campus. Michael is committed to building coalitions across campus to help improve campus culture and climate. Additionally, Michael is involved with NASPA: Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, a higher education association, where he has served as Chief of Staff to the Regional Director, Treasurer, and currently the 2025 NASPA Region IV-E Conference Co-Chair.
A first-generation college student from Illinois, Michael received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Master of Arts degree in Student Affairs Administration from Michigan State University. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate of Education from MSU's College of Education. Outside of work, Michael enjoys running, travel, trying new restaurants, reading, and following Big 10 college sports.
